Upside Down Journey, Acroyoga workshop
Saturday April 13th 2019, 2pm-5.30pm
Carmarthen Learning Centre, Furnace Road, SA31 1EU
There is no need to have a partner for the workshop, but we will work in groups.
Experience: All Levels including beginners. If you have been to our classes before, you’ll love it, if you haven’t this is for you too!
Join Bongo and Sam of Yoga of Dragons, for this playful 3 1/2 hour workshop that will introduce you to the practice of acroyoga. Acroyoga is a combination of yoga, acrobatics and therapeutic arts. Practiced in pairs or small groups, acroyogis work and play together to create balances, sequences, flows and healing hang- outs.
The workshop will start with fun warm up exercises that help you understand and embody the roles of flyer, base and spotter. We will then invite you to develop skills in some of the key poses of acroyoga. There will be a 15min tea break before we play with transitions between the poses, building an acroyoga flow. We finish with some therapeutic partner work for a relaxing end to an exciting day.
Sam and Bongo have been enjoying Yoga, Acrobatics and Acroyoga since 2012 and have been teaching Acroyoga for the last three years. They took the VanCity Acro teacher training and continue to explore and develop learning and teaching methods that take their students beyond their expectations. They travel and share their practice wherever they go, and run weekly classes in their hometown Aberystwyth, Wales. They love helping people surprise themselves as they uncover the possibilities of trust, connection and challenge that acroyoga embodies.
You don’t need to be super-flexi and strong, or a mega experienced yogi or acrobat before you start. Practicing acroyoga will build flexibility and strength, but mainly it should be tried because it’s extremely good fun! It will certainly give your laughing muscles a good workout.
Join Yoga of Dragons for this fun and accessible acroyoga workshop. We will teach you some basic postures and flows, and how to practice safely. This workshop has a limited number of places, to register and reserve a place, please fill in the form below AND make a payment using the appropriate paypal link.
